    Tuesday Night Ride the Islands

    This No Drop ride leaves from the store promptly at 6pm.  The distance will be 15-25 miles to Sullivan’s Island and Isle of Palms with an A and B group option.

    Group Ride Etiquette
    • Pass on the left
    • Follow the rules of the road (stop at red lights and stop signs)
    • Single line when appropriate
    • No aero bars in the paceline
    • No headphones
    • Point out or call out road obstacles
    • Use appropriate hand signals for turns and stopping
    • Flat kit and water required
    • No helmet, no ride

    Please come early to the ride with any questions and our group ride leaders will be happy to answer them for you.

    Riding with other cyclists is a great way to change up the normal routine and meet new people. There is strength in numbers, as well as added safety. Always ride with a friend when possible or join our Group Ride!

    Build a Better Runner Series

    Every Thursday this Summer @ 6pm at Blue Sky Endurance

    Learn the skills, drills and techniques to achieve major breakthroughs in your running. Whether you are training for a fall marathon or your first 5K, we will help you avoid common running injuries and develop speed and efficiency. Learn to view running as a skill. We’ll give you the knowledge and tools to improve your individual running mechanics. These will be great tips for all levels and will take place before, during and/or after the group 3-5 mile run on Thursdays.

    This Build a Better Runner Series will emphasize:

    Running specific mechanics, core strength and range of motion, proper warmup and cooldown protocols.
    Each week we’ll have a specific emphasis on one of the following:

    Lower leg mechanics -- foot strike, ground reaction time (cadence), air phase

    Hips and thighs -- knee lift, emphasize recovery of the lower leg, postural direction

    General Running Posture -- core stabilization

    Warmup/Cooldown - How’s and Why’s to achieve your best training and racing results.

    The Coaches:

    Ben Yocum: USATF Level II Coach. MS Exercise Science. 12yrs experience collegiate track and field coaching. 14yrs experience in triathlon. I’ve seen it done right, I’ve seen it done wrong and just when I think I’ve seen it all… you showed up.

    Will LeMieux: USATF Level 1, Cross Country Specialist. 2 years coaching Division 1 collegiate track and field and cross country. 10 years of training and racing experience from the mile to 135 miles. I believe everyone has the ability to achieve their best. Sometimes, the journey is just as important as the destination.
